TARGET AUDIENCE | This educational activity is specifically designed for medical and surgical oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare providers interested and/or involved in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. |
 LEARNING OBJECTIVES | After successful completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss breast cancer tumor biology, how to identify breast cancer subtypes, and the importance of consideration of breast-cancer subtypes in treatment decision-making
- Identify the treatment options for patients with luminal cancer, including endocrine therapy, chemotherapy, novel targeted agents, and the role of gene expression assays in treatment decisions
- Describe current standards of care and recent clinical trial data on novel agents for HER2-enriched breast cancers, including therapeutic strategies to overcome resistance to standard therapies
- Compare and contrast recent clinical trial data on therapies for basal-like breast cancers, including novel chemotherapeutic and targeted strategies
