Breast Cancer 2011: Cutting-Edge Developments

29 January 2011—During the first day of the 5th International Breast Cancer Conference (IBCC5) in Paris, presentations focused on practice advances in breast cancer management in 2011.

Martine Piccart-Gebhart, MD, PhD (Institute Jules Bordet, Brussels, Belgium), introduced the theme of this year’s program, Breast Cancer: New Angles, New Facets, New Perspectives. Forty-nine distinguished speakers from 16 countries assembled to address more than 900 delegates on a variety of topics in 3 categories: practice advances in breast cancer therapy, the biology and treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and targeted breast cancer therapy today.
